Department Of Neuroanaesthesia
Neuroanesthesia department provides the highest quality of care for patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures and provides expert guidance for the perioperative care of patients with neurologic disease. In close partnership with neurosurgeons and neurointensivists from the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology, we are committed to excellent patient care, education, and research.
We provide non-operating room anaesthesia including the interventional neuroradiology and MRI suites. The department is the centre of perioperative care for patients undergoing a vast array of neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies for intracranial tumors, resections of intracranial vascular lesions, ablation of epilepsy foci, transsphenoidal surgery, functional neurosurgery, peripheral neurosurgery, oncologic spine surgery, corrective spine surgery, paediatric neurosurgery, neurotrauma care and intensive care support.
The Neuroanesthesia Department also provides anesthesia for innovative therapies in neuro-oncologic surgery and functional neurosurgery for neurologic or psychiatric diseases. We integrate high-level, qualitative neuromonitoring with intensive perioperative care to provide patients with the safest possible anesthesia care.

Dr. Shekhar Reddy Gurrala

He is Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Specialist Director and Head of the department of Neuroanaesthesia Professor of Anaesthesiology at Apollo institute of medical sciences and research. He has more than 20 years of experience as teaching faculty. Established Acute and Chronic pain services Department Provide various anaesthesia services which include – Non operating room anaesthesia, Neuroanesthesia, Transplant anesthesia, Oncoanesthesia and Anaesthesia for robotic and ophthalmic surgeries. He is the Faculty of National Board of Examinations for DrNB Neuroanaesthesia training programme.

Dr. Moparthi Rajabhushanam

He is one of the esteemed anaesthesiologist in the department of Neuroanaesthesia . He has more than 15 years of experience in practising anaesthesia. Provides various anaesthesia services which include – Non operating room anaesthesia, Neuroanesthesia, Paediatric neuroanaesthesia and neurotrauma.

Dr.Lakshman Reddy

He is one of the faculty of neuroanaesthesia. He is well experienced in giving anaesthesia for major brain and spine surgeries. Proficiency in Neuromonitoring: Cranial Doppler, electrophysiological monitoring of brain (EEG, SSEP, BAER, MEP) and jugular venous oximetry. He is well-versed in handling neurotrauma, neurocritical care and paediatric neuro cases.

Dr. Chennupati Prabhu Kishore

He joined the Department of neurosciences in 2023 after completing MD Anaesthesiology from NTRUHS, European diploma in Anaesthesiology and intensive care (EDAIC) from ESAIC and Doctorate of national board (DrNB) in Neuroanaesthesiology and critical care from NBEMS. His special interests are perioperative neuro-monitoring and neuro intensive care.
